LED Panel Lights

LED Panels are attractive luminaires for drop or suspended ceilings. They provide uniform illumination with wide beam angles typically required for offices and other commercial applications. The LED Panel is an ever-popular replacement for conventional T8 & T5 fluorescent fittings. LED panels come in 600x600mm; 1200x600mm and 1200x300mm configurations corresponding to standard grid sizes for drop ceilings. LED panels will save energy and provide a modern aesthetic in the areas they are used.

There are a number of options to consider when shopping for an LED panel for your project. These can include: Warranty, Colour Temperature, Wattage, Lumen Output, UGR (Unified Glare Rating) and Dimmable or Non-Dimmable. LED Panels are very simple to install. They can be simply dropped into standards size drop ceiling frames and power then connected to the driver or power supply. Sometimes the panels are supplied with 5amp plugs which can make installation even easier. Other installation methods include suspension or surface mounting. We can supply kits for these on request.

Typically, the lightweight aluminium LED Panel frame houses three layers including: a reflector; a light guide to distribute light evenly across surfaces; and, a diffuser controlling glare & light transmittance. The LEDs themselves are usually laid in two strips within the frame on opposite sides of the panel. It's important to choose quality LED panels as cheap, low-quality panels use inferior light guides and diffuser materials which can discolour over time or not disperse the light evenly so you get bright areas close to the sides and darker areas in the middle.
